From Survival to Stillness: Returning to Your Inner Power

In the beginning, the questions weren’t mystical. They weren’t about chakras or spirit guides or the deeper meaning of life.

The questions sounded more like:
How am I going to pay my rent? Will there be love? What’s happening with my health? What about my kids?

Maybe you’re there too - or have been.
This state, often called survival mode, can show up in countless ways: money struggles, relationship stress, health issues, emotional exhaustion. The mind spins:
Will it get better? What more do I need to do? How do I fix this?

Not everyone sets out searching for spiritual meaning. Most of us begin by simply trying to feel okay - trying to breathe through the chaos. But somewhere along that path, something begins to shift. We catch glimpses of peace. We experience a moment of clarity or grace, and we realize there is something more. Even if we can’t name it. Even if we can’t see how it unfolds.

There’s a quiet, inner voice that starts to guide us differently. It urges us to act in new ways, to leave what no longer fits, to move toward something unknown yet true. Often this voice grows loud not in ease, but in discomfort—we reach a point where we simply can’t keep doing things the old way.

Over the years - through my own life and through the stories of people I've worked with around the world - I’ve come to know this truth:
The most powerful changes don’t always come from rigid plans. They come from presence. From quiet. From deep listening.

Simple practices - like sitting in nature, creating, breathing deeply, or listening to soft music - can shift everything. These moments help us step out of survival mode and into the space where transformation is possible. They let us return to the self that knows.

We’ve been taught that to succeed, we must control, conquer, or force change. But that’s not how I’ve come to understand the Universe, the Divine, the All That Is.

When we connect to the spacious quiet, to Spirit, to the unseen realm - we’re shown another way.
Not striving.
But aligning.
Not chasing.
But receiving.

Imagine this for a moment:
A dog chasing its tail. It spins, spins, spins, expending energy but going nowhere. Eventually, it collapses - tired, frustrated, no closer to the joy or connection it was seeking.

Now imagine a woman standing firmly on the earth. She breathes. She observes. She senses the truth of what’s around her. She feels into what is hers and what is not. And then - she chooses. A clear, grounded action that lifts her, guides her, and nourishes her. She’s not drained by battle. She’s not stuck in proving or pushing. Her energy stays with her. And from that place, she can meet the world with compassion, not exhaustion.

That’s available to each of us. Even in moments of overwhelm or hopelessness, we are never truly stuck.
That “stuck” feeling is a sacred invitation to pause.
To exhale.
To step back and ask:
What is really happening here? Where is my energy going? What is mine to carry - and what is not?

The answers we seek rarely live in changing others. They live in how we meet ourselves, moment by moment, from the inside out.

You are here to be something far greater than your circumstances. And that has nothing to do with status, image, or external success.
It has everything to do with your soul’s journey - your unique frequency - your living presence.

You offer the world something only you can.

So if life feels like a tangle of drama, noise, or scarcity, try not to solve it all at once. Instead, find the exhale.
Find the stillness.
Find one moment where you aren’t reaching or fixing, but simply being.

From that place, life begins to meet you differently.

There are many ways to return to yourself. You might try journaling, walking in nature, breathwork, gardening, sound bathing, gentle movement, or sacred rest. None of these are “the answer” - but each can be a doorway.

You are here to become more than what you currently see.
As Rumi said:

“Everything in the Universe is within you.”
“We seek outside the wonders we carry inside us.”

So take a moment. Take a breath.
And remember: the path forward begins within.

May your journey be one of presence, expansion, and truth.
And may you always remember - you are deeply supported as you walk this Earth.

With love,

Susan
