Meeting the Grandfather Within
There are moments in life when something deeper calls - softly, insistently - not to be conquered, but to be met. To be explored with reverence.
Huachuma, also known as San Pedro, is a sacred cactus known to carry the spirit of the Grandfather - an energy that many say teaches through compassion, patience, and deep understanding. Those who sit with this medicine often describe it not as an escape from the self, but as a return to the truth of who they are.
No ceremony is ever the same. The Grandfather doesn’t offer a predictable path. Rather, he opens a doorway, inviting presence, humility, and surrender. For those who approach with curiosity - not ego or control - the experience may be profound. But it requires a willingness to feel, to unlearn, and to meet what lies beneath the surface.
What might happen if you allowed yourself to go deeper than you’ve gone before? What truths might rise if you stepped beyond the mind’s insistence that you’ve already done enough?
There is no finish line to this work. Just layers of remembering. Just the quiet unfolding of what has always been inside: peace, love, interconnection. A sense of Oneness that asks nothing of you except presence.
But it’s not always easy to access. Stories, defenses, and patterns often stand in the way. They once served a purpose, yes - but are they still needed now?
Consider this an invitation. Not to seek something “out there,” but to turn gently inward.
What change longs to emerge through you?
Where in your life do you feel whole, and where do you feel split?
What do you keep chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
And beneath it all - what do you most deeply desire?
You don’t need plant medicine to begin this inquiry. The Earth is always waiting. Your breath is always with you. Stillness is accessible in every moment, if you choose to listen.
So dance. Journal. Sing. Walk barefoot. Sit on the Earth and ask your heart what it wants to say.
You are already the medicine.
You are already enough.
With love,
Susan
